François Jongmans mathematician, born in 1921 and died in 2014, was both a mathematician and historian. Here we trace briefly the main features of his academic career at the University of Liege and his scientific career in geometry, with particular emphasis on the work within the Liege School of convex geometry that he has created and directed.
